Mastersingers Intermezzo Choir
For Those With Alzheimer's and Dementia

Presented by the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers, the Intermezzo Choir welcomes any person living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia and their care partners, who can attend the structured weekly rehearsals and, most importantly, wants to make good music and good friends. The program is under the direction of Mastersingers Artistic Director, Shannon Arnold, in collaboration with Jan Malecha, a board-certified music therapist and Mastersingers Choir member. The Intermezzo Choir is a great outlet for singers with early to mid-stage Alzheimer's or related dementias, their care partners/family and volunteer singers to socialize with new friends and sing favorite songs that are both familiar and new. No singing experience is required, but we will work on vocal techniques, rhythm, breath support and ensemble skills.
